Before you begin filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, there are important things students and parents need to know or have available in order to proceed. This FAFSA checklist will help you get organized.
The first step is to see if you meet the criteria to qualify. Then, gather information needed for the application. Lastly, mail it off, or you can apply online or via telephone as well. Please visit www.fafsa.gov for more details.
FAFSA Eligibility Checklist
- Are a U.S. Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen (have a green card)
- Have a Valid Social Security Number
- Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Are Registered with the Selective Service if Male age 18 to 25
- Enrolled in an Eligible Degree or Certificate Program
- Enrolled at Least Half Time to Qualify for Direct Loan Program Funds
- Demonstrate Financial Need
- Complete and Return the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

- Records of Additional Untaxed Income

Student Required Information
